Below are some tips for helping you reduce the risk of infection on your PC from Spyware & Viruses

• Ensure you have an up to date virus protection such as Bullguard, Panda or AVG
• Ensure you are running anti spyware software such as windows defender that can be downloaded free from the Microsoft website.
• Keep up to date with Windows Updates.
• Never open emails from anyone you don’t know or not expecting.

Many people think that just by having the latest antivirus / anti spy ware software that they are safe: this is not true, because you may have been infected by the latest virus / spyware before your software has downloaded the definition to detect it.

This is why you must run your software at least once a week.

Another common problem is downloading toolbars and search bars to help with exploring the net but as most of these will slow down your system as they contain spyware, I would advise you steer clear of these.
